Castilléjar has two main "fiestas" every year.
In August, we celebrate Santo Domingo de Guzmán, the patron
saint of Castilléjar. This is the main fiesta, and it lasts
five days. It includes live music, dancing, fairground attractions
and much food and drink.
The Candelaria fiesta is smaller, and occurs the last few days
of January until the first of February. In this fiesta we are invited
to try home-made wine and food. There are some rides for the children,
alongside organised competitions and much fun and games.
Other fiestas in the area include Los Olivos, in May and Baza,
in September. The fiesta in Baza lasts 10-12 days, making it one
of the longest in Andalucía!
